When Tanzania restructured its coffee export system in 2018, the farmers of Shiston Village saw an opportunity. Located in the volcanic highlands between Mt. Meru and Mt. Kilimanjaro outside Arusha, this community banded together to establish their own wet mill—forming a new AMCOS (Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society) with their own Central Processing Unit.

For the first time, these producers could bypass traditional middlemen and sell directly through auction or export channels. The impact was immediate. As word spread of the cooperative's success, neighboring farmers left their private groups to join, until nearly the entire village had signed on.

This is coffee from farmers who seized control of their own destiny and the cup quality proves they made the right choice.
